A change of setting

Volume 4 ups the page count a bit compared to the last couple of volumes; not by a whole lot, but when entries average a bit north of 200 pages, you notice little increases.

This entry also steps into more formal vocabulary and grammar as compared to previous volumes; we see a bit of court life in two different countries. Nothing completely ridiculous/unexpected either grammar or vocab-wise, but it can definitely take a reader by surprise given the lack of such stuff so far (besides smaller interludes).

Volume 4 marks the beginning of a new arc in the series; it's quite different from what we've seen so far in the first three volumes: we leave the sea behind (probably temporarily) and instead enter the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Whether you're okay with this or prefer high sea shenanigans will likely come down to personal taste. For better or worse, this arc feels a bit rushed to start with compared to usual, so there's definitely potential to grow.
