スマート泥棒

There are several thieves of varying intelligence in this story, but really, it's more about (unhealthy? questionable?) human relationships. It's a bit hard to rate, as this is a book you have to read twice if you really want to enjoy it.

Language wise there's some slangy vocab you won't find in the dictionary. Several scenes aren't really established and feel more like a stream of consciousness where you have to figure out the actual setting yourself, e.g. a phone call that you hear only one side of. There are diagrams illustrating the relationships of all the characters at the end of each chapter.

タイトルを読んだとこの小説は二十面相かルパンみたいな泥棒がいると思ったけど、そうではない。スマート泥棒と呼ばれているけど計画はそんなに賢くないと思う。でもそれもそれでいい。実は『スマート泥棒』は泥棒についての話ではなく、複雑な人間関係についてだから。

各章は別の女主人公の視点から。章の終わりに皆の関係は図に示されていり、ミステリーよりパズルのような話である。本当に楽しむには、２度読まないといけないこと。

残念なことに、気に入ったキャラクターはいなかった。２章の賢一の行動も無意味と感じたので、ちょっとがっかりだった。
