If you like proverbs, it’s a fun and worthwhile read.
Okay, so I bought this book years ago but back then found it too hard to read - my kanji knowledge wasn’t good enough and I’d had no practice reading handwriting. So having now done a little more consistent kanji study and reading of handwriting, I decided to tackle this again - reading one proverb a day.
While it’s billed as a kids picture book, there is some obscure vocabulary and archaic grammar which makes comprehension a little tricky at times, but if you like proverbs (and I do), then it’s a fun read. Even if you’re not much of a proverb fan, it’s very useful as an introduction to the many 四字熟語 which turn up in everyday conversation such as 三日坊主 and 一石二鳥
