The language initially feels much more difficult than it actually is, because of respectful language and several kana-only words appearing in obscure kanji. I found that I only needed a few pages to get used to that, though, and the rest was easy to read, with no complicated grammar or obscure vocabulary.
The story itself is a little masterpiece. It sneaks up on you and makes you increasingly uncomfortable in a very unique way, while containing nothing traditionally horror-ish. I'm sure it will stay with me long after reading it. Highly recommended.
