The jokes have a good amount of charm, and the premise of the story is unique. Readers will probably have a fair number of new words to look up which makes it a decent and accessible work for picking up vocab. The fight scenes are done well. The only downside of this volume is that it mostly setting up future volumes and not enough focus is done to ground the characters before more of the cast is introduced. One action scene seems to have been cut short because drawing it out would be too much of a hassle.
