A show to remind anyone that it's never too late to start something new

Although many have suggested to read the manga over the anime, I really enjoyed what the anime offered in its short 12 episode run. It provided an appetizer before the main dish that the rest of the manga serves you.

The series is about empty and aimless high school junior Yatora Yaguchi, who, after becoming inspired by a senpai's painting, strives to get into Tokyo University of the Arts (A school with a 1% acceptance rate for direct admits in the department he aims for) and the growth he must endure to reach this goal. It was a satisfying watch, and I think Yaguchi's VA, Hiromu Mineta, did an amazing job at voicing him.

There are a lot of technical art terms and more complex terms from the anime (especially when characters talk about their art and philosophies behind it), but if you're not interested in art too much, the definitions may not serve you well long-term. They do repeat these terms often though, making it easier to remember later on. Really hoping to continue reading on about Yaguchi and how his journey, triumphs, and struggles unfold.
