Sometimes a tanuki is just a mongrel dog
I really enjoyed this series. It's about a tanuki (raccoon dog) who gets picked up by a lady, with comfy slice of life vibes. But it also explores the challenges of being an author on the side.
There's no furigana but the difficulty is normal to easy. Tricky parts may be the one-off weather report, and one of the characters is half-German so sometimes her speech is in katakana and the like. But both of these things doesn't affect being able to understand the volumes on the whole. The tanuki also uses pen and paper to communicate which is often in just hiragana.
The art is good too. Check it out!
