Really enjoyed this LN. The setting feels like something out of Kaiji, but in a private school.

Difficulty wise, I found this to be harder than your usual LN:

  • The author seems to like using kanji for those 'usually kana' words. 殆ど、随分、何故、兎に角、既に、etc.
  • There's a lot of back and forth arguments/reasoning/deduction.
  • There's plenty of N1 & N2 grammar in here for you.
  • According to jpdb ~1500 unique kanji, so having a good base ~N2 level might be worthwhile (or you can just look up a lot!)
  • This felt like a vocab step up compared to anything I've read so far. I felt the same about ビブリア古書堂の事件手帖 at the time.
