A Good Segue Into Novels
If you can read this without banging your head against the wall, you're definitely ready for novels.
You may be wondering why I started reading this, despite already reading novels. The reason is because I wanted to give myself a challenge: I read the entire book without using a dictionary. I had to reread a few parts and I ultimately skipped a couple of parts, but they make it very clear through context on what's happening. It really isn't that challenging of a read if you're used to novels, and you can even learn a few new words!
In terms of the story, it starts off a bit slow at first, but it gets a lot better in Chapter 2. The climax especially went places that I didn't expect from a Tadoku novel. I don't want to spoil it, but I think you would be a bit surprised, too.
This was a neat little experiment, and I hope I can try reading other easier books without a dictionary, too.
