Highschooler 황금지 is a fan of the idol group DDL, but they're so popular that it's difficult to get close to them. So 금지 devises a plan to meet her favourite member by preteding to be a fan of Yo-i, a rookie boy group. Things take an unexpected turn when she gets into an altercation with one of the members of the group, not realising he's a part of Yo-i...

I read this many years ago in English when it was published by ICEkunion, so it was nice to be able to revisit the story in Korean. I found it a nostalgic and enjoyable read - the main character is funny and likeable, and the story is entertaining. This first volume is just setting up the story - several characters appear briefly but don't have the chance to be fleshed out, although the snippets of information about them are interesting enough that you want to find out more.

There are a couple of minor points that make things more difficult for the language learner: there is some casual speech (including slang), some domain-specific vocabulary relating to the entertainment industry (although explanations are often included), and the handwritten text can be illegible at points. Other than that, it's what you'd expect from a romcom aimed at younger teens.
