Starts off fairly simple, with the protagonist awakening in a locked room, having completely forgotten his identity. He is told that he has been involved in a cutting-edge psychological experiment, and shown a number of documents that may help him remember who he is. A large part of the book consists of these documents, which vary wisely in form, content, and style, and include material that is, let us say, rather far from the vernacular. Apart from the challenge of reading the documents, the task of piecing together the backstory isn't easy. While it all comes together a satisfying (though still ambiguous) fashion, I'll have to read this again to really put all the threads of the puzzle in place - if that's even possible.
