I bought the series to study for the N3 exam in December. The book does a good job to mimic the type of texts that will appear in the actual exam. The first sections present reading strategies to improve understanding and fluency, then introduces types of texts (e.g. notices, emails, essays), and finally mock questions and exams. There's about 60ish texts, short and longer ones, so I think the content is adequate for practicing. Text questions are usually multiple choice, there are very few exercises with fill-in questions.
The answer key is included as a removable booklet and contains detailed explanation why an answer is (in)correct which is quite helpful.
I think the book is great to practice and test your reading skills in preparation for the JLPT, though of course I would always recommend to pursue extra reading with native reading material.
