While there are some rough sections (the opening section is the hardest I think, it gets much easier as it goes on) this isn't too bad for something written in the 1920s. I had to check the date before finishing it because at one point she references 'the war' and I was going, "....which one?" 🤔
Given the time period and that it was a woman writing about women's rights I was delighted and surprised by how forcefully it was written. The author's exasperation and impatience came through quite clearly.
I felt the parallels in her writing to modern Japan and in my own country, although of course not on every point. Humans problems that are not easily resolved.
