Mystery is lacking

This is a crime novel but mostly not a mystery, unlike the other Higashino titles I have read. I feel like this would have made a better short story than a novel. The crime was also a little repulsive and the accomplices very annoying, which left a sour taste in my mouth.

The language is very simple and uses extremely common words, like the other Higashino books I have read.
