• Interesting topic to someone who's into cooking, food prep, gardening, etc.
• Available for free on Aozora Bunko and more modern than many of their titles
• Has a uniquely interesting perspective, because it contrasts old Japanese traditions with Western imports

• Still a little riddled with older and/or less common vocabulary
