This book is a compilation of Haruki Murakami's advice column that was open to the public a few years ago. There was no particular theme so it ends up covering just about everything, and some of the questions and answers are really funny. As a Murakami fan, it was interesting to learn more about him from his answers. But it can also feel repetitive at times.
This book is perfect for language learners for a lot of reasons. You get exposed to a wide range of natural (mostly casual) writing styles and vocabulary from all sorts of subjects. The Kindle version lets you sort by topic, so you can focus on things that interest you if you prefer. There's an entire chapter just about cats, for example. Also, the format is perfect for short reading sessions. Most of the letters are only a paragraph or two long. I highly recommend this for readers who are just starting to move into text-only content but maybe not ready to jump into full novels.
