While I liked the first volume, I found this impossible to read. A dizzying amount of new information was introduced, very little of it feeling meaningful, while old characters and setting details were completely discarded. Judging by some of the Bookmeter reviews, I don't think my inability to comprehend it at points was purely due to my novice Japanese.
The book did not feel like it was about the main character or the original premise (the spirit-seeing magical seamstress) or resolving the climax of the first volume, but about ancillary worldbuilding and side characters. The author's worldbuilding feels passionate and reasonably detailed, but not cohesively introduced. Rather, the book tended towards rapid infodumping.
A pretty major plot thread was resolved in disappointing blinks of an eye. The plot unfolded too fast, and events didn't get much description or time to breathe, instead being skipped over. It seems that there will be a third volume in the years to come, which might take care of more outstanding events from the first book, so perhaps that will be better, but I can't recommend this as is.
