This show really caught me by surprise. Within the first episode, both of the MCs have distinct personalities, and substantive interactions with each other and the side characters (who are already getting some development). Both MCs have actually have something to offer each other, and all the characters feel really genuine throughout.
One of the show's strengths is that it's something between a romance, slice-of-life, drama, and comedy. As a result, it doesn't quite fit any stereotype, but instead feels pretty unique. The characters all feel really genuine, and have interactions beyond their current/potential pairings. It's interesting seeing their relationships progress. Also the visuals and OST are used very, very well.
My main criticisms would be that the pacing between episodes can sometimes feel a bit random, and I would have liked to see some of the side characters get more development. Both of these flaws seem to be the result of trying to adapt a 128 chapter manga in 13 episodes. A follow-up series, ホリミヤ -piece-, which features stories from the manga not adapted in the main anime, is airing soon though.
Language-wise, it's pretty much what you'd expect from its genre(s). I don't have much to say there.
