"tear-jerking" is no joke, I teared up like 4 times! I'm around N4 level so I didn't know lots of the kanji (there is very little furigana!) but was still able to understand around 70% thanks to the stories being simple. The most difficult were the cat and pet related terms. It was no smooth reading experience but the story and characters kept me motivated to keep reading. Would definitely recommend this to all animal lovers!
