I found the writing style easy to read, with a pleasant voice, and not too much in the way of difficult grammar. Most of the words I didn't know, I could guess at with my kanji knowledge (somewhere around N2, I think) or from the context; I rarely felt like I needed to look up words to understand what was going on. Although I picked up the book mostly because I am a Satoko fan, and I did wish there was more written about her figure skating experience, I also enjoyed reading her stories about learning English - many of them were quite relatable from the other side! I found it a nice piece of light nonfiction.
