Sometimes I want fantastic world building and exciting, deep stories that surprise me at every turn, making me guess what will happen next. Other times I just want something that's easy to read and sweet as sugar. And Tamamo, kitsune turned maid, definitely delivers on the sweetness front.
Pros:
Cons:
From a language learner's perspective this was not very hard. If you've read other mangas around L20, you will probably be right at home. Tamamo has some easy to figure out speech quirks, and there are a few religious words scattered here and there, but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a few dictionary lookups.
In the end, Tamamo no Koi is a pretty standard fox girl meets boy story, and doesn't try to be more. And I wasn't looking for anything more. I wanted something cute to relax with, and that's exactly what I got.
