This volume felt pretty pointless. While each volume in the series rarely moves the overall story forward in any meaningful way, at least they usually have interesting characters and/or enjoyable volume-level stories. However, for this volume I didn't find many of the new characters to be interesting, and I feel like the entire volume could have been converted to a short prologue for the next volume and nothing would have been lost. Such a shame after how great the previous volume was.
