Decently entertaining kids book that's presumably aimed at an early-teen female audience. The story concerns a young girl suffering from a brain tumour and may not live out the next few years, and so resolves to make the most out of life.

This would most be of interest to people who liked 夜カフェ. They share some very similar themes around gaining confidence, dealing with bullies, making new friends, socialising with boys, etc. The impetus for these changes is more serious here than in 夜カフェ, but otherwise they're quite similar, and the cancer aspect is not dealt with anywhere near as melodramatically as it sometimes is in other stories (so far at least).

I'd guess difficulty-wise this sits in the early 20s. Mostly N3 level grammar, long run-on sentences or philosophical musings are rare, and the vocabulary is for the most part ordinary daily-life stuff. Only thing that really stood out to me was that this author likes using slightly more flowery descriptions than I've experienced in other children's literature, especially when talking about the weather, or the seasons, or other nature related topics. Sunsets seem a particular favourite of hers.
