Setsuna is a teenage boy struggling with impure feelings toward his twin sister. Some demons are following him around, insisting that he’s the reincarnation of a powerful angel. His best friend is a little odd too. A weird guy is distributing a suspicious computer game in order to awaken another powerful, but insane, angel.
I read this on Bookwalker, which has volumes 1 and 2 combined into a single book. The scans are not great quality and it was hard to read the furigana. Many words/names have tiny katakana next to the kanji, with names/concepts from various Western mythologies. It improves the atmosphere to read it with words like “cherubim,” but unfortunately the Bookwalker scans are poor enough that I often gave up on that and just read the kanji the usual way.
By the way, although the first few volumes are set in normal Tokyo (of the ‘90s), it won’t stay there. Later volumes will be set in Heaven and Hell, and have a large cast of characters with demonic and angelic ranks. So expect the vocabulary in this series to grow increasingly obscure as the story progresses.
Content warnings: Incest, blasphemy, and all sorts of dark stuff in future volumes. There are characters of various non-binary gender and sexuality, and sometimes they use slurs to insult each other.
