Sooo much happens in this volume. The 七人隊 really add a lot of creative twists to things... tho their technology is a little jarring, when there's been nothing like that in the whole series. I liked the 銀骨 battles better in the anime (more filled out and impressive). Sesshoumaru killing 霧骨 is brilliant. There's a really adorable scene of Inuyasha crying over Kagome, after the poisoning incident; and of course Kouga running his mouth, without knowing the circumstances. The most exciting twist imo is 椎骨 and the Jekyll/Hyde thing. It's unexpected and different, and sets the foundation for a larger development/story arc. It's cool seeing a little more direct engagement with Kikyou, though I felt really bad for Kagome at the end, and wished she wouldn't do that to herself.
