An entertaining children's story that can be enjoyed by those of all ages!

Although a massively successful series that has been translated into many languages, I never read any of the Magic Tree House as a child; however, I did enjoy this book, and look forward to reading more. If you have read this book before, I'm sure rereading it as an adult will be a nice trip down memory lane, but the series has more to offer adult readers than just nostalgia.

Philipp and Anne (as they are known in the German translation) are siblings who happen to discover a treehouse in the woods as they are coming home from school one day. The treehouse is full of books, and picking up one on the subject of dinosaurs, Philipp wishes he could see dinosaurs in real life. Suddenly, the wind begins to howl and the treehouse starts to spin! When all is quiet again, the children look out the window and realise they're not in Kansas Pennsylvania anymore...

This is a fun adventure with a dash of mystery, and the story moves quickly. The language is simple, which is great for learners, but this doesn't detract from the excitement of the plot. It's a relatively quick and satisfying read, and there's also an audiobook available. A great choice for beginners!
