I adored this book (though largely because it was a direct hit for my reading level). Sentences are very short and largely unambiguous but still manages to tell a satisfying story, even if it is very Big Emotions at time. The main difficulty for beginners I would identify is one character speaks almost entirely in kansai-ben, and there are a lot of words rendered in kana instead of kanji which can make things harder to read depending on your vocab level.
