Not funny
The source manga was written by the same author as よつばと! and this follows pretty much the same formula as 日常, which are both works I love but あずまんが大王 did not meet my expectations. The animation feels very dated and cheap (e.g. crowds of people and backgrounds often got simplified into solid colors or gradients), and I simply did not really find it funny. Being funny is the raison d'être of comedies so I stopped watching after a few episodes.
Language-wise, I'd rank the difficulty level of this show around the low 20s. This is a nice source of daily vocabulary like しゃっくり (hiccup), and 横断歩道 (pedestrian crossing). One character of the main cast speaks 大阪弁 while everyone else speaks 標準語, but you should expect the usual casual language contractions like 何しているの→何してんの. Finally, the only available Japanese subtitles I could find on kitsunekko for this show were auto-generated by Whisper, which consequently comes with errors, so I'd recommend watching this raw, without subtitles.
