An exploration of love
I am writing this review roughly a month after reading it.
Citrus is a light yuri manga following two girls who are absolute polar opposites of one another. We have Yuzu, a bright and cheerful gyaru, then we have Mei, a reserved and serious class representative, heir to a fortune. Through circumstance, they end up becoming step-sisters and living with one another. Yuzu begins to have some confusing feelings towards her step-sister, and volume 1 follows the girls as they navigate their new lives and feelings.
It's not too difficult to read. It features a lot of slang and colloquial language but outside of that, it's not too challenging at all. Nothing much happens in volume 1, but that could be due to it being very slice of life. It's an easy and pleasant read, though. So if the story and setting sound interesting, I would recommend it.
I gave it 5* for language learning as it is accessible and there is a lot of modern and colloquial language, which is always useful to know!
