As with other books by Kishi Yusuke (貴志祐介), the main difficulty is the vocabulary. The prose style is no harder than your average adult book, so If you're reading with a popup dictionary this could be fairly accessible. That said, the number of unknown words in this was substantially greater than in other books considered somewhat difficult (e.g. Re: Zero).
