I find the "arrogant perfect boy and incompetent-but-gutsy girl fall in love" trope annoying, and based on the first two volumes it seemed like that was going to be the dynamic. But I went ahead and kept reading since the first 10 volumes were free on Bookwalker for a time, and the dynamic gets a lot better. It's definitely a slow burn, but Chiaki and Nodame both grow a lot as individuals over time and learn to respect each others' strengths. If you enjoy classical music, I would definitely recommend.
