This was a super condensed adaption of the game. "Super condensed" almost feels like lying, honestly: we still have the general frame story of "Dhaos bad", but events to get from the beginning to the end were rearranged and shortened. Honestly I enjoyed it though, unusually for what's not a faithful adaption at all. The animation team had limited time to get through the story, and while it ran at a pretty frenetic pace throughout, I thought they pulled off what they needed to.
This was a tougher listen than I was expecting: lots of "ye olde" speech, lots of formal-speaking characters, lots of fantasy names and places thrown out with little to no context. Definitely one I'd like to revisit once I'm more proficient.
