Cute, beginner friendly, and worth picking up
Sahara-sensei & Toki-kun Vol 1 is a mostly fluffy first volume, and allows the reader to get to know the characters and some of their backstory (and history together) in a fun and occasionally humorous environment.
As always with this type of teacher-student romance story, be aware that there is an age gap and that one protagonist is more than a few years older than the other while simultaneously being in a position of power over the other (but the age gap isn't that severe). However, there isn't any (mis)use of this power as of yet, and things are mostly wholesome and fun, with a few sad moments.
From a language learning perspective, the style of language used here is very conversational and although Toki's language can be rough, it's all generally quite easy to read - there aren't many complicated words, and everything does have furigana for the most part, so there won't be too many issues.
Overall, a solid 'will get next volume' and 'actually quite like this'. 4.5/5.
