Maybe I was barking up the wrong tree, but I was hoping for a plot that’d be better than what an unimaginative middle schooler is capable of. It’s not even bad enough to be funny, it’s about 1-2 steps above that in a very disappointing way.
As for the language, it’s pretty basic grammar with all the kemono mimi people speaking in an anime archaic way. It’s not particularly stimulating, mostly just with titles.
If you want to give someone you don’t like a gift and they like BL, this would be a good choice.
