Management essay in cute disguise
As of volume 5, the story is not finished, and is serialized monthly on comic-action. Due to the uncertainty of where the author is going to take it, it might be too early to comment on this aspect.
The tone of the manga is mainly relaxed, adorable and humorous, but also with some tension and scenes of combat. If you've seen the anime adaptation, you know what to expect.
There is a lot of dialogue of approximately N2+ level, and almost no furigana. The dialogue, or perhaps it should be called monologue, was the main appeal of the series for me. There's little to no slang outside of the usual dungeon-related words, and so it's not difficult to follow.
The drawing style is very basic. The anime adaptation is universally an upgrade over the manga, and I'd recommend watching a bit to give color and detail to the characters, even if you intend to mainly read.
