Great touching movie portraying an aro ace character
This is to say this is my first touch with a story featuring an aro-ace character (and protagonist), and it was incredibly sensitive and very well done.
I found it through the Japanese Film Festival which offered streaming of various independent movies. The summary it gives is very fitting:
The story plays out a bit slow and mellow without much drama, but I didn't find it drawn out or boring at any point. The struggle of the protagonist is very relatable and the main actress did a great job portraying the conflictedness in finding a content life that is doesn't conform to societal expectations.
As for a learner's point of view, I found the language to be very relatable, as most of it are casual conversations among peers. The speed and used language is pretty realistic, which can be a bit fast for a beginner (I had to watch without subtitles, so it was a bit hard to catch sometimes). It should be perfect for intermediate learners who have already dabbled a bit with native material (especially of the drama kind).
