A peculiar travel book.
This book is a collection of blog posts from the author's time traveling solo across all 47 prefectures of Japan.
From a language learning perspective, I think it's a good book. The kanji used are mostly from N3 and N4. And because these were blog posts, they're simple to read. The chapters themselves are only a couple of pages long, so it's easy to set a goal to read one chapter a day. The author also includes one 4koma manga at the end of each chapter which is cute. Plus, since this is all about travel, you get to learn about the different prefectures in Japan.
However, as a reader, I didn't enjoy the book much. I found the author to be so negative about so many things. Some of her stories were relatable. Buuuut there was a lot of "I didn't try this" "I couldn't do this" "I felt awkward doing this alone so I didn't" etc. I think if you know that she talks like this before going into reading, you'll have a better experience than I did.
