Short stories that are all mysterious
This feels very similar to ふしぎ駄菓子屋 in mood, without the running theme of the candy shop. These are all stand alone short stories. Each of the chapters felt uniquely interesting and mysterious in a spooky elementary school kind of way, nothing too scary, though not every chapter has a happy ending.
Some chapters are longer or slightly harder than others. Each story repeats vocabulary related to that story a lot, so it's good for picking up words. There is partial furigana, maybe words up to around 3rd grade level don't have furigana. A lot of words that would be written in kanji in a book for an older audience are written in pure hiragana.
Overall I enjoyed it and making progress though each chapter was satisfying. The illustrations are gorgeous.
