Despite this being listed as the 6th book in the series, it's actually the first book chronologically. If you want a clean 'from the start' introduction to all the characters I recommend starting here.

I really enjoyed this book in the series. I didn't guess either of the medical 'tricks' although I did seem to consistently get them before our Watson character, 小鳥・小鳥遊.

This volume is one that deals with a bit heavier themes, which isn't rare in the series, but some of the other volumes have light hearted cases interspersed - this one does not. This isn't to say there isn't humor, because like always the chaotic behavior of 天久 is a foil to the very serious cases.
