This might be a good choice for anyone looking for a young adult novel but wants something different from the typical coming-of-age type plot.
None of the characters are particularly innocent, they are all desperate to get themselves out of their individual situations and willing to do anything to achieve that.
It's a short book and the chapters are quite punchy but the plot direction isn't very clear. I think the author was going for a big reveal at the end but it didn't quite hit for me. While there were some foreshadowing and surprising moments overall the structure just wasn't solid enough to pull it all together satisfyingly.
