This novel is my second book from this author (이치조 미사키), after 오늘 밤, 세계에서 이 사랑이 사라진다 해도.
At the heart of the story is a male high school student, with talent and passion for poetry. His life takes a turn when he befriends a young woman, a singer of outstanding talent that struggles with dyslexia. She is in dire need of someone to help her put words to her songs, paving the way for their journey in creating and performing music together. As they navigate this creative partnership, romantic tensions blossom between them, adding depth to their shared experiences. Echoing themes from the author's previous work, this book again delves into the realm of disability (here dyslexia, previously amnesia) and explores how the characters confront and adapt to such challenges.
While I found this narrative enriching and thought-provoking, it didn't quite captivate me as much as 오늘 밤, 세계에서 이 사랑이 사라진다 해도. I found it a bit more challenging to get into at the beginning, both in terms of sentence structure and many (to me) unfamiliar music-related vocabulary, but I think that the two books are pretty comparable in terms of difficulty overall.
