Beautiful and Touching
I enjoyed this immensely, and would recommend it to everyone!
심덕출 is an elderly man who decides that he wants to finally pursue his lifelong dream of learning ballet; 이채록 is a ballet student who becomes his unwilling teacher. We see the difficulties 덕출 faces due to his unconventional new pastime, and how his determined spirit inspires those around him.
The story went in a bit of a different direction than I was expecting, but it's a wonderful show with a cast of really talented actors. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling it, but rest assured, you won't regret watching.
The language is not particularly difficult, thankfully, being mostly everyday conversation. The ballet terminology didn't pose a problem as it's all in French or English, and it's always accompanied by a character demonstrating the movement. There is some specialised vocabulary - for example financial terms in a workplace setting and medical terms used in a clinic - but only in a handful of scenes.
Overall, this is a moving and memorable show that is accessible for intermediate learners and beyond.
