Better than a textbook for the advanced level
This book records a lot of mistakes commonly made by native speakers in Spanish. It also talks about other topics, such as forgotten words (or "palabras moribundas", as they're called throughout the book), and the origin of many expressions. I can pretty much garantee that you will learn something by reeading this, even at a very high level.
Since the target audience is native speakers, it doesn't have that textbook feel, and I actually had a really fun time reading this. The useful information is interjected by the author's desesperation at certain mistakes being so common. So between the funny commentaries, new words and expressions and passionate explanations, you can always expect to be entertained.
Language wise, it's well written, but the more esoteric and uncommon words/expressions are usually explained with a full definition and the occasional example. What's nice is that some of the vocab also builds on itself, and is mentionned multiple times throughout the book, linguistics terms in particular.
As for the Spanish dialect used in this book, it's generally more Castillan Spanish. There are some sections about other dialects though, with "translations" in Castillan Spanish.
