It is fairly well executed for what it is. But it's still utterly vapid.

If you want to read a story about a guy beating the odds by getting a completely unfair advantage which makes him powerful and very predictably winning fights that are way too dramatically staged for how little actual drama there is given we can all tell exactly how it's going to play out - this will be a good pickup. The action isn't badly written, and the imagery/worldbuilding is fine. Dialogue is atrocious though.

My main issue is that is doesn't explore the implications of any of the fantasy elements it introduces in an interesting way at all. Everything is in service to telling this bland recycled plot of strong-guy-gets-the-girls-wins-fights. There is roughly zero thematic depth. None of the characters are interesting. There's just nothing on offer here that you haven't seen a hundred times before.

If you want half-decently executed light-novel power fantasy bullshit, go for it. I was extremely bored though once it became obvious that nothing interesting was going to happen.

Difficultywise, it was pretty easy. There's a little bit of fantasy and military vocabulary, but all very common stuff.
