I found this story a bit bland compared to the previous volumes.

A couple from the countryside take a trip to the city, and their visit is basically the distracted boyfriend meme: he's constantly checking out other women, and when one of them shows an interest in him, his fiancée gets annoyed. When they get home, he decides that he can't take living in the boring countryside anymore, so he breaks off the engagement and moves to the city.

He soon starts dating the woman that flirted with him, and gets a job as a chef in a French restaurant having never cooked French food before! He happened to overhear a chef getting fired, offered his services, and is told to come back the next evening. He buys a book on French cooking, reads it all day, and when he goes back to the restaurant that evening, he is a master chef of French cuisine! That did give me a chuckle.

So his new life in the city is going great, right? Well, predictably, it's not all smooth sailing - he doesn't have much in common with his new girlfriend, and soon he's regretting his choices. He begs his ex-fiancée (with her dirndl and her thick arms) to take him back, which she does... And they end up living in the city together (...even though she hates the city). The end!

While the story is a bit "meh", like the other volumes in the series it's useful for langauge learning: simple vocabulary and grammar, short chapters, accompanying audio, and some local landmarks thrown in to add some interest. Even if it's not particularly thrilling, at least it's a quick read!
