This is the third series in the broader Nyakotan universe, and focuses on the enigmatic loner, Rasubosu. It's kind of a prequel/running alongside the first series since it shows he initially meets the duck Gohan, gets his name, and gets his scar, but we don't see little Goripuchin yet.
Rasubosu has always been the most complex-seeming character of the series so making a spinoff about him is an obvious, but good choice. I was expecting it to be a little tougher than the other two series since it focuses on an older, more mature character, and that is the case. There's a bit more fighting/tough guy words, but it's still pretty accessible if you're going off the first two. The stories themselves go a little deeper as well, it's still generally the same fun cat hijinks, but this is a character who's been hurt in the past trying to do some good while dealing with his reputation, so it's a little heavier and I think the tonal balance works really well.
Everything from the Nyakotan series has been excellent and this is no exception. There's still plenty of duck action as well so duck fans can still rejoice.
Also the 100th ebook from Honto I've finished!
