This is a really outstanding series. The N+1 method combined with frequent repetition of material learned earlier really works. Might possibly be a bit challenging for true beginners, but as a relatively advanced learner I learned a ton (in terms of idiomatic usages) even from the very first volume. The first volume is available free from the author's website so you can see for yourself if the difficulty level is appropriate.
