An Intriguing Continuation with Interesting progression
Entertainment: I was initially skeptical about the second volume of this series, but I ended up thoroughly enjoying it. This volume deviates from the usual isekai tropes by introducing unique twists and maintaining a well-paced narrative. Lugh's journey to the 王立騎士学園 with Tarte and Dia adds a fresh layer to the story, as they encounter new challenges and characters. The introduction of the hero, Epona, who is both a potential ally and target, adds complexity to the plot. The blend of strategic planning and action keeps the reader engaged, making it a compelling read.
Language Learning: Much like the first volume, this book is filled with dialogues and lacks extensive descriptive passages, which makes it relatively easy to read for an N2-level audience. The vocabulary related to weapons and certain scientific concepts is the most challenging part, but overall, it's quite manageable.
Overall: In summary, this volume excels in several areas: the story progression is smooth, the descriptions are well-balanced, and the pace keeps the reader hooked. The plot developments are logical and well-foreshadowed, reducing any sense of inconsistency. On the downside, the series still adheres to some typical genre conventions, but it does so with enough originality to keep it interesting. Initially, I found the first volume unremarkable, but this second volume pleasantly surprised me. It’s an enjoyable, easy read—perfect for a bit of light, entertaining escapism. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next, even if it remains somewhat formulaic. It’s the kind of "popcorn reading" that doesn’t demand deep reflection but offers a lot of fun.
