Story: There's a lot that's really unique and captivating with this show. The main trio are all interesting, and have good character development. I especially liked seeing how Hiyori decided not to give up on either of her dreams!
The two idols initially start off pretty dislikeable, in a way that was very realistic. The issues in the show seem like a very realistic representation of the pressures and challenges of idol culture (and famous performers in general). The relationships between the characters and their classmates also seemed very organic and realistic, with the exception of the things they handled poorly in the last few episodes. One thing I enjoyed is that while some romance incidentally enters the show, the show itself is not a romance. And the way it was handled was really refreshing! Bonus: soooo many of my favorite voice actors are featured!
The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because of how the last 3 or so episodes were handled. Way too many suspension of disbelief issues for me, in an otherwise serious show that had done very well on that front. The ending is fine, they just arrived at it in a totally unrealistic manner. Despite that, I'd still really recommend it!
Language: I don't have much to say here. I usually watch things with JP subs, but couldn't find them, so I had to watch audio only (and compare against the EN subs, when I got stuck). There isn't much in the way of specialized industry vocabulary or slang or anything. Should be ok if you've watched other high school shows.
Anyway overall really enjoyed and recommend!
