This is a biography of the J-Pop singer Hamasaki Ayumi, and it's been published during her 3rd year so it's very very early on in her career. It's mostly about her childhood and teenage actress years, and extremely brief about her music career. The writer went to her hometown and interviewed people who knew her, and it can feel a bit paparazzi/creepy at times. It's written like the author knew her personally, which isn't the case, and it made me cringe a little bit. But it was an interesting read nonetheless.
In terms of language level, it's right at N3 level, I read it just as I finished studying with 新完全マッスターN3 and I didn't find any grammar I didn't know. The vocabulary is often specific to producing, acting and singing-songwriting, but learning it was easy because it's very repetitive. The author's style is not very verbose and they don't use too many synonyms, which makes the book a relatively easy read for intermediate learners, as long as the topic keeps your interest. I know it's very niche though! (Highly recommend Ayu's music, her lyrics are great too!)
